Tech Entrepreneur Adam Robinson’s Heartfelt Message About Family Life Resurfaces After Fatal Florida Plane Crash

A heartfelt message about the importance of spending time with loved ones has resurfaced following the death of technology entrepreneur Adam Robinson, his wife and their two young children in a private jet crash in Florida.

Robinson, 45, was among nine people killed when a Learjet 60 crashed in Palm Beach County on November 1, 2026. The aircraft had departed Austin, Texas, and was heading to the Bahamas when it went down near Greenacres.

Among the victims were Robinson’s wife, Helen Sharp, 40, and their children, Emma, 4, and Charlie, 2. Their nanny, Anita Maria Apellido Cetina, and family friends Rachael Reed and Charmi Fehr also died. The two pilots were killed as well.

Following the tragedy, attention turned to a social media post Robinson had shared in April about the importance of being present for his family.

In the post, the entrepreneur reflected on people who worked extremely long hours in the belief that they were providing a better life for their families, while overlooking what their loved ones wanted most: time together.

Robinson wrote that he had made a conscious decision early in his business career not to let work take over his family life. He explained that he and his co-founders had adopted a practice of finishing work around 5 or 5:30 p.m., switching off their laptops and spending the evening with their families.

He also described the relationship between his work and home life as mutually energizing, saying that his family gave him motivation for his work and his work gave him energy for family life.

Robinson was the founder and CEO of Retention.com and co-founder of other technology businesses, including RB2B. Based in Austin, he had built a career in marketing technology and entrepreneurship.

His wife, Helen Sharp, was an entrepreneur and public relations professional who had founded Influential PR. She had also recently developed an interest in ceramics and started a studio.

The families of the victims released a joint statement remembering Adam and Helen as devoted parents, describing their children as the light of their lives. They also paid tribute to the friends and caregiver who died alongside them.

The crash is being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board. Investigators said the pilots had reported icing conditions and turbulence before declaring an emergency. Early findings indicated that the aircraft may have begun breaking apart before impact, but officials emphasized that the investigation was still in its preliminary stages.

The tragedy has left several families grieving the loss of loved ones, while Robinson’s earlier words about prioritizing family time have taken on a painful significance.
