Pennsylvania Mom Accused of Killing Husband and 3-Year-Old Son at Resort Told 911 Dispatcher She Needed “Help Dying”

A family getaway at a popular Pennsylvania resort ended in tragedy after a mother was accused of killing her husband and their 3-year-old son before calling 911 and asking for help, according to court documents.
Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, of Towanda, Pennsylvania, faces two counts of criminal homicide in connection with the deaths of her husband, Charles Harrison, and their young son at Great Wolf Lodge in the Pocono Mountains.
Police were called to the family’s room around 3:15 p.m. on October 12, 2026, after Harrison reportedly told a dispatcher that she did not want to be alive and needed “help dying.” According to the criminal complaint, she also allegedly told the dispatcher that her husband and son were already dead.

When officers arrived, they found Harrison injured and discovered her husband and child with stab wounds. Harrison was taken to a hospital for treatment and subsequently taken into custody, authorities said.
According to the affidavit, Harrison made several emotional statements to emergency personnel while being transported for medical care. She reportedly expressed regret and spoke about the family life she had hoped to have.
“Every day, I work so hard to be the best person, the best mother, the best wife,” she allegedly said, according to the complaint. She also reportedly told first responders that things were not supposed to end that way.
Investigators recovered knives and other evidence from the room. Authorities have not publicly established a motive for the alleged killings.
Records indicate that the family had checked into the resort in September and extended their stay in early October. Surveillance footage reportedly showed the family together at the resort the evening before police were called.
Monroe County District Attorney Mike Mancuso described the case as a “violent domestic tragedy.” The resort said it was deeply saddened by the incident and was cooperating with law enforcement.
Harrison is being held without bail, and her preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 21, 2026. Court records cited by PEOPLE did not identify an attorney available to comment on her behalf.
The investigation remains ongoing. Harrison has been charged but has not been convicted, and the allegations against her will be addressed through the legal process.
