16-Year-Old Arrested After Deadly Shooting at Oklahoma City Apartment
OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA — September 21, 2026

A 16-year-old has been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting at an apartment complex in southwest Oklahoma City, police said.

Officers responded to the Almonte Apartments in the 5900 block of South May Avenue late Saturday night after receiving a report of a person with a gun.

Man Found Dead Inside Apartment
The call came in at around 11 p.m. on September 19.

When officers arrived, they found a man dead inside one of the apartments. Police said he appeared to have suffered a fatal gunshot wound.

The victim’s identity had not been released as of Monday, and authorities had not publicly provided his age.

Teen Arrested
Investigators arrested a 16-year-old in connection with the shooting.

Police have not released the teenager’s name because of his age. Authorities also have not publicly disclosed the relationship between the teenager and the victim or explained what led to the shooting.

Investigation Continues
The Oklahoma City Police Department’s homicide investigators are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the killing.

Additional details, including the identity of the victim and any formal charges against the teenager, are expected as the investigation develops.

The teenager is accused in connection with the shooting and is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
