Residents Rescue Stranded Cat From Fast-Moving River in China

A group of residents in Chengdu, China, carried out a creative rescue after finding a cat stranded beside a fast-moving river.

The incident happened near Yunfeng Bridge in Chengdu, Sichuan, on September 6. The frightened cat was trapped close to the rushing water and appeared unable to reach the riverbank on its own.

A Makeshift Rescue Plan

Several residents gathered after noticing the animal in danger. They used a plastic bucket and a rope to create a makeshift rescue system.

The residents tied the rope to the bucket and carefully lowered it toward the cat from the riverbank.

The Cat Is Lowered Into a Bucket

After several attempts, the residents managed to get the frightened cat inside the bucket.

They then slowly pulled the bucket upward, keeping the animal above the rushing water as they brought it back toward the riverbank.

A Safe Rescue

The cat was eventually lifted clear of the river and brought safely onto dry land.

Footage of the rescue shows the residents working together to keep the operation controlled while the cat was inside the makeshift container.

Residents Work Together to Help an Animal

The rescue required cooperation from several people because of the fast-moving water and the difficult position of the stranded animal.

Instead of attempting to enter the river, the residents used equipment available to them to reach the cat from a safer position on the bank.

A Simple Solution Saves the Cat

The improvised rescue ended successfully, with the cat safely removed from the dangerous area.

The incident showed how a simple bucket, a rope and coordinated efforts allowed residents to help an animal trapped beside a fast-flowing river.
