Florida Mother of Three Killed in I-95 Crash After Truck Tire Blowout Leaves Her Children Injured

A Florida mother of three was killed in a devastating highway crash on Memorial Day, leaving her young children injured and her family facing an unimaginable loss.

Olivia Maggs, 32, of Titusville, was driving her Honda Odyssey on Interstate 95 in Brevard County on May 26, 2025, when a pickup truck suffered a tire blowout and collided with her vehicle, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Maggs died at the scene. Her three children, including an eight-month-old baby girl and two young boys, ages 3 and 4, were taken to hospitals for treatment.

Tire Blowout Sends Two Vehicles Off the Road

The crash happened shortly before 12:30 p.m. near Pineda Causeway in Melbourne, Florida.

According to authorities, a tire blew out on a Ford F-350 pickup traveling in the center lane. The 58-year-old driver reportedly lost control and struck Maggs’ minivan.

Both vehicles left the roadway and crashed into a guardrail. The pickup truck driver and his 20-year-old passenger were not injured and remained at the scene.

The Florida Highway Patrol continued investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision, including the cause of the tire failure.

Three Young Children Injured

Maggs’ children survived the crash, but the youngest suffered serious injuries.

According to a family fundraiser, the infant girl sustained a broken femur and a brain bleed and was airlifted to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando. Her two older brothers were also hospitalized, with reports indicating their injuries were less severe.

Family members said strangers stopped at the crash scene and helped pull the children from the wrecked vehicle.

Their actions provided crucial assistance during the chaotic moments following the collision.
