MAN WANTED IN FATAL BRONX BALCONY FALL THAT KILLED YOUNG MOTHER AND INJURED BABY ARRESTED

A man accused of pushing a young mother and her infant daughter from a 15th-floor balcony in New York City has been taken into custody, according to reports.

Angel Carrasco, 31, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service on Wednesday evening, October 7, following a search that began after the shocking incident in the Bronx.

Authorities say 23-year-old Nathaly Ramirez and her 8-month-old daughter fell from a balcony at an apartment building on Olinville Avenue in the early hours of October 6. Ramirez later died at the hospital, while her baby was seriously injured.

Investigators allege that Carrasco, who was reportedly Ramirez’s former partner and the child’s father, pushed the pair from the balcony. The case has drawn renewed attention to concerns about domestic violence.

According to reports, Carrasco had previously faced domestic violence-related allegations involving Ramirez. Those earlier incidents are part of the background now being examined as investigators pursue the case.

The arrest brings an end to the immediate search for Carrasco, but the investigation and legal proceedings are expected to continue.

Ramirez’s death has left loved ones and members of the Bronx community grieving. A memorial of flowers and candles appeared outside the apartment building as people paid tribute to the young mother.

The allegations against Carrasco have not been proven in court.
