Security Guards Allegedly Waited 12 Minutes Outside as Courtney Clenney’s Boyfriend Was Fatally Stabbed

Security guards at a luxury Miami condominium allegedly stood outside Courtney Clenney’s apartment for about 12 minutes while a violent confrontation unfolded inside, according to a lawsuit filed by the estate of her boyfriend, Christian Obumseli.
Obumseli, 27, died from a stab wound on April 3, 2022. Clenney, an OnlyFans model also known as Courtney Tailor, initially claimed she acted in self-defense. The case later became the subject of intense public scrutiny as investigators examined the couple’s troubled relationship and the events leading up to his death.
In an amended civil complaint reported by the New York Post in July 2023, Obumseli’s estate alleged that building security had been alerted to a disturbance at the couple’s unit in the One Paraiso condominium complex. According to the lawsuit, guards went to the apartment, knocked on the door and heard yelling but remained outside instead of intervening.
The family’s lawyers argued that building management and security personnel were familiar with previous disputes involving the couple and should have recognized the situation as an emergency. They claimed that a faster response might have saved Obumseli’s life.
Clenney’s defense team disputed the family’s account. Her attorney maintained that she had been subjected to abuse and that her actions on the day of the stabbing were taken in self-defense. The allegations in the civil lawsuit were claims made by Obumseli’s estate, not independent findings that security personnel could have prevented his death.
The incident also raised questions about how condominium security teams should respond when residents report domestic disputes, particularly when staff members have previously been called to the same residence.

Clenney later pleaded guilty to manslaughter in connection with Obumseli’s death in August 2026 and was sentenced to six years in prison, with credit for time served, followed by five years of probation.
