Three-Year-Old Girl Left Dangling 12 Floors Above Ground as Neighbors Race to Save Her

A terrifying rescue unfolded in China after a three-year-old girl became trapped outside a 12th-floor apartment window, leaving her suspended high above the ground as neighbors desperately tried to keep her safe.

The frightening incident, captured on video, ended with the child being rescued unharmed after security personnel, building staff and firefighters worked together to bring her back inside.

A Terrifying Discovery Outside the Window

The incident occurred shortly before 8 a.m. on October 17 in Zhangping, Fujian Province.

According to reports, the girl’s mother had temporarily left the apartment to buy groceries. During her absence, the child managed to climb through a metal safety grille surrounding the window.

Her body slipped outside, leaving her head and arms caught within the grille while her legs dangled over the enormous drop.

Neighbors Refused to Give Up

Security guards and property management workers quickly entered the apartment directly below the child.

With no immediate way to pull her back inside, two men extended a white stool through their window and positioned it beneath her feet to provide support.

Video footage showed the men taking turns holding the stool as others watched anxiously from nearby apartments and the ground.

Firefighters Race Against Time

Emergency responders eventually reached the building but faced another obstacle: the girl’s apartment was locked.

Firefighters used power tools to force their way inside before reaching the window and carefully bringing the child back into the apartment.

The little girl was subsequently taken to a hospital as a precaution. Reports confirmed that she escaped the frightening ordeal without injuries.

A Rescue That Could Have Ended Differently

The incident has renewed warnings about the dangers of leaving young children unattended, particularly in high-rise apartments.

Authorities urged families to secure windows and other openings to prevent similar emergencies.

What began as an ordinary morning became a desperate rescue involving strangers who worked together to protect a vulnerable child until professional help arrived.
