Florida Teen, 16, Shot Twice After Halloween Door-Kicking Prank Turns Into a Terrifying Nightmare

A Halloween prank took a frightening turn in Florida after a 16-year-old boy was shot twice in the arm by a homeowner following an alleged confrontation outside a residential property.
The incident happened at around 11 p.m. on October 31 in the Shenandoah neighborhood of Davie, approximately 32 miles north of Miami.
The teenager had reportedly been spending Halloween night with a group of friends, participating in a prank commonly known as “doorbell ditching,” in which people ring or knock on someone’s door before running away.
However, according to the boy’s stepfather, the group allegedly took the prank further by kicking a neighbor’s front door before running away.
The homeowner reportedly came outside, chased the teenagers down the street and fired two shots. Both bullets struck the 16-year-old in the arm, leaving him seriously injured.
The teenager was rushed to the hospital, where he underwent major surgery. His mother later revealed that doctors had to open up his entire arm during the procedure to treat the damage.
Although the boy’s condition was reported to be stable, his family remains deeply shaken by what happened.
His parents, who have chosen not to reveal their identities or their son’s name, are now demanding answers from authorities. His mother expressed anger that the homeowner had not been arrested, saying she was frightened by the possibility that the individual could still be nearby.
The boy’s stepfather also questioned the homeowner’s decision to use a firearm, arguing that the appropriate response would have been to contact police rather than chase after the teenagers and open fire.
“How irresponsible is that?” he said, describing the danger of firing a weapon in a neighborhood filled with children celebrating Halloween.
The family has since hired an attorney to help pursue the case. They were reportedly informed that Davie police had forwarded the investigation to the Broward State Attorney’s Office, which will review the evidence and determine whether criminal charges are warranted.
Police confirmed that the shooting remains under active investigation. As of November 3, no arrests had been announced, and the homeowner had not been publicly identified.

The case has raised difficult questions about the use of deadly force, property protection and the consequences of a Halloween prank that ended with a teenager seriously wounded.
For the boy’s family, what should have been an ordinary night of Halloween fun has turned into a frightening experience they say will be difficult to forget.
