A North Carolina man was sentenced Tuesday to 25 years in prison for fatally stabbing his girlfriend’s former boyfriend in the parking lot of a well-known Long Island yacht club.

Victor Panebianco, 32, pleaded guilty last month to first-degree manslaughter in the Nov. 10, 2025, death of Christopher Millwater, 52, at the Stony Brook Yacht Club, where Millwater was a member, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.

Prosecutors said Panebianco and his girlfriend, Kacy Corso, 33, drove from North Carolina to confront Millwater. Corso had briefly dated Millwater before the relationship soured. Authorities said the pair were already waiting in the club parking lot when Millwater arrived around 3:40 a.m., a time he often used to fish.

Millwater tried to leave, driving around their vehicle toward the exit. Prosecutors said Panebianco rammed Millwater’s car to trap him. Millwater then tried to run. Surveillance footage showed Panebianco chasing him while swinging a knife, catching up, and stabbing him twice in the chest. Prosecutors said Millwater’s last words were, “You’re stabbing me?”

Police responded to a 911 call and found Millwater’s body at the club. Panebianco and Corso drove back to their apartment in North Carolina, where they were later arrested by the Stokes County sheriff.

Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney said the killing was brutal and that the court imposed the maximum sentence his office requested. He said he hoped Millwater’s loved ones would find some solace in the outcome.

Corso, a former DoorDash and Uber driver, grew increasingly hostile after splitting with Millwater and at one point called him a “grave robber” in a social-media post, prosecutors said. Millwater himself posted on Facebook days before his death, writing that there was “plenty of time to rest when I’m dead” and later that nobody could throw his past in his face.

Corso pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter on July 22 and is scheduled to be sentenced to seven years in prison.
