Suspect Arrested in Deadly December 2025 Triple Shooting in Central Fresno
FRESNO, California — September 18, 2026

A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a December 2025 shooting in central Fresno that left one man dead and two others injured, authorities said.

Danny Lamas was taken into custody Thursday by Fresno police homicide detectives and booked into the Fresno County Jail. He is suspected of killing 35-year-old Mariano Cabrera and shooting two other people during the incident.

Shooting Left Three People Wounded
The shooting happened on December 21, 2025, at the Pleasant Village Apartments near Pleasant and Fedora avenues.

According to police, Lamas approached Cabrera and another man inside the apartment complex before several shots were fired.

Officers responding to the scene found three people suffering from gunshot wounds.

Cabrera suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body and was transported to Community Regional Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.

A 30-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman were also wounded. Their injuries were considered non-life-threatening, and both were taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Woman Was Not Connected to the Other Victims
Investigators determined that the 30-year-old man was with Cabrera when they were confronted by a gunman.

Police said several rounds were fired toward the two men, striking both of them.

The 34-year-old woman was nearby but was not connected to the two men. Investigators said she was unintentionally struck by the gunfire.

Suspect Taken Into Custody Months Later
Nearly nine months after the shooting, detectives arrested Lamas on Thursday.

He has been booked into the Fresno County Jail in connection with the deadly shooting. Authorities have not publicly released additional details about a possible motive in the latest reports.

The investigation remains ongoing.
