Teen McDonald’s Employee Killed by Teenage Coworker on What Should Have Been His Day Off

A 17-year-old high school student with dreams for his future has died following a fatal stabbing at a McDonald’s restaurant in Texas.
Reginald “RJ” Harrell was killed on the night of October 7, 2026, at the restaurant where he worked in the Cypress area near Houston. According to authorities, deputies responding to the scene found Harrell inside the restaurant’s restroom with multiple stab wounds. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said a 16-year-old coworker was detained at the restaurant and later charged with murder. Authorities have not publicly identified the teenager because of his age.
A Tragedy His Family Never Expected

Harrell’s family said he had gone to the restaurant on what was supposed to be his day off.
His mother, Denisha Dennis, spoke about the devastating loss of her son and called for justice. His sister, Kourtnee Dennis, said she was struggling to understand how a young life could be taken so suddenly.
Harrell was a senior at Cypress Creek High School. According to his family, he hoped to become a welder after graduating and had a future he was looking forward to.
What Led to the Fatal Incident?
Authorities said a confrontation between the two teenage employees reportedly escalated before the stabbing. However, investigators have not publicly established what sparked the altercation.
The restaurant’s owner-operator expressed condolences to Harrell’s family and said the business was focused on supporting employees affected by the tragedy.
The investigation remains ongoing as Harrell’s loved ones mourn a teenager whose life ended far too soon.
His family is now left with grief, unanswered questions, and the hope that the investigation will bring clarity to what happened that night.
